We are delighted to be able to evaluate and participate in the Erasmus+ project “Combating Online Misinformation to Prevent Radicalization,” which has been nominated for the 2026 EAEA Grundtvig Award! The European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA) recognizes exceptional adult learning and education initiatives across Europe with the Grundtvig Award. The 2026 theme, “Resilience and Community Building,” highlights projects that help adults adapt to social and technological changes, strengthen critical thinking and democratic participation, support people in vulnerable situations, and contribute to building more inclusive and resilient communities. This is precisely what the project “ONLINE COMBAT: Combating Disinformation Online to Prevent the Radicalization of Vulnerable Adults” aims to achieve.
In a digital environment where disinformation, manipulation, and polarizing content can reach vulnerable people with particular ease, “ONLINE COMBAT” aims to strengthen digital resilience, media literacy, and critical thinking. Using AI-powered learning tools, gamified activities, non-formal education, and community-based learning, we create practical resources for both adult educators and learners. Our goal is not only to help people recognize and counter disinformation, but also to strengthen their self-confidence, social inclusion, and ability to actively participate in a democratic society.

All four deliverables are now ready for external evaluation and testing—an important phase of the project—and SAFE Projects is contributing to this phase.
