Everyone today needs to have at least basic digital skills in order to study or work, communicate, access a growing number of online public services, and find trustworthy information. The Digital Economy and Society Index shows that four out of ten adults in the EU lack basic digital skills.

S.A.F.E.Projects (The Netherlands) together with Lithuanian Marijampolė „Meilė Lukšienė“ Education Center implementing small scale strategic partnership project focused on digital competencies development concentrated on andragogical approach. During the project lifetime, we organized learning activities for adult educators. We have notice that on a practical level adult educators emphasize that for them it is very actual how effectively and grounded on andragogy principles should be organized digital activities. In this project framework, both organizations working to improve their staff skills and empower adult educators with practical skills on how to use online tools based on andragogical approach. We enable practitioners to take advantage of new and innovative methods to reach out to their target groups and successfully engage them in their activities. We learned and discussed on how to make the digital learning process more attractive and engaging for adult educators.

Both organization’s staff felt greater job satisfaction due to enhanced competencies. All activities were focused on how practically help adult educators to implement digital online learning/teaching activities based on andragogical theory.

S.A.F.E.Projects are happy to develop also coaching and mentoring skills by supporting applicant organization (Lithuanian Marijampolė „Meilė Lukšienė“ Education Center) because for them this is the first international project and they are also learning international project management skills combined using interactive tools.

During learning activities, we all improved digital competencies based on an andragogical approach and our understanding of the differences between digital platforms and digital tools increase self-awareness about digital skills and competence.

As a final project results will be presented digital adult educators’ competencies development program and prepared handbook “Andragogy methods and digital tools for adult educators online teaching activities”.
